Senior Photography FAQ

  • Wear something that reflects your style and personality. Keep in mind that earth tones and solid colors are best so that you can be the focus of the photograph—not your sweater. Props are great!

  • Absolutely! We love including your four-legged family members. Here's a handful of things to think about:

    • Don't leave home without a leash, poo bags, lots of treats, their favorite toy, realistic expectations, and an extra person to lend a hand.

    • Tire them out before hand. If your dog tends to be full with energy, it’s a great idea to make sure they’ve had plenty of time to run before we meet for your engagement photo shoot. You know your dog best, so plan in advance for their energy level.

    • Plan to include your dog in just half of our engagement photo shoot. We'll iron out the details, but ultimately it works best to only worry about including your dog for half of our time together.

    • Keep your dog’s personality in mind. We don't want to stress them out! Consider the circumstances in which your dog is most comfortable.

    • Don't skimp on treats and toys. They're both a great way for us to get the attention of your pups. A squeaky toy can be super effective. And if you have any other toys that your dog loves, bring those along too!

    • Be patient. When we first meet your dog, we'll give them time to sniff us and get comfortable with us. Once they seem calm and ready to go, we can get some great photos of them. Most people end up loving the more candid, in-between photos featuring their dogs. Go with the flow and we'll take care of the rest!

  • Believe it or not, cloudy days are great for photo shoots because they're usually full of natural but diffuse light. While downpours may be a reason to change a date, light sprinkles are no problem. We'll let you know if we need to reschedule.

  • We usually recommend early morning (for those early risers) or 1-2 hours before sunset. The lighting is best at these times and usually works well for most. We're always willing to schedule a shoot when it works best for your schedule, but we try to avoid the mid-day sun.

  • We book Senior photography sessions up to 3 months in advance. If you are looking to schedule your session for a weekend, then it is best to schedule as soon as you can as we have limited openings! When you request a quote, you'll be able to let us know your desired date and we'll let you know right away if we're available.
