Family Photography FAQ’s
What should I wear for my photos?
Wear something that reflects your style and personality but keep in mind that earth tones and solid colors are best vs distracting patterns, this will allow focus on your expression and not your sweater.
Props are also great! Is it Fall? Wear a hat…Is it Winter? wear a scarf… Is it Summer?… then bring matching sunglasses. You get the idea! For more tips visit my What to Wear Wednesday posts.
What type of photography do you shoot?
We are modern and current… we focus on real life moments and work with our clients to capture images in a photojournalistic and editorial manner. We shoot on-location (your home, park, nature scene, beach, lake) and work with natural light. We focus on interacting with you and your loved ones so the real you can shine through in your photos.
It’s raining, is our family shoot cancelled?
Not necessarily, downpours may be a reason to change a date…. a light sprinkle is no problem. I will contact you should we need to reschedule. Cloudy days are actually somewhat desirable to shoot on!
How far in advance should I book?
Family Sessions book up to 2 months in advance. If you are looking to schedule your session for a weekend then it is best to schedule as soon as you can! Please contact me to see if your date is available.
I have a blemish, Can you remove it?
Yes! Minor retouching is included. I can and will remove small blemishes on images if necessary and when possible. I will remove people or add people (within reason) to images or open eyes for an additional fee.
When is the best time of day to schedule a shoot?
I usually recommend early morning (for those early risers) or 1-2 hours before sunset. The lighting is best at these times and usually works well for most. I am always willing to schedule a shoot around my clients schedule but try to avoid the mid-day sun.
