Make sure you have chemistry with the photographer.
Having chemistry with the person you will be spending your wedding day with will make for more emotional and playful photos.

Meet with photographer that will documenting your wedding day.
A photography studio can potentially send any photographer…don’t sign a contract unless you agree with this policy.
The bottom line- make sure that you know who will be showing up on the day of your wedding!

Make sure your photographer is properly insured
Liability Insurance is very important. Some venues will not work with uninsured vendors.

Don’t let price be the only factor when hiring your photographer.
Is your photographer a single shooter or will they be bringing an assist?
Is retouching included and will all your final photos be edited or unedited?

Find out who owns the rights to the photos.
Do you own the rights to the final photos? If you do- make sure you get a print release!

What is the emergency plan?
Find out if the photographer has back up equipment and an emergency plan in place should another photographer need to step in.

Evaluate the photographers artistic criteria
Does the photographers style match yours? Style is very important to think about.
A photographer can be Traditional, Artistic, High Fashion, Modern, Photo-journalistic or a combination of a few styles.
